Christofer Drew
Christofer Drew (Ingle), also known as NeverShoutNever!, has made a major impact on the underground indie scene in just one year.
Coming from a small town in Missouri, Drew released his debut EP Demo-Shmemo, in February ‘08, after recording it in his basement. Later in July, he released The Yippee EP, which sold over 11,000 copies on Smartpunk; also making him the top unsigned seller of the year.
His latest EP, Me & My Uke was released January 27th of this year, and each song is performed solely on a ukulele. His songs are mostly acustic and performed by himself.
This 17 year old has already performed on TRL, made a music video, has 3 EP’s under his belt in the course of one year, and is recording a full length to be released sometime later this year. Drew will be touring with bands such as The Scene Aesthetic, The Bigger Lights, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Cab, and Mercy Mercedes this spring as well as being a part of the Bamboozle Road Show.
Also, Drew has recently teamed up to form the band Eatmewhileimhot! (on vocals). I find their music to be incredibly unique, if not somewhat scitzaphrenic. Described as “melodromatic”, each song varies from regular alternative, to screamo, maybe some death metal scremo and perhaps acustic thrown in there too. I think its incredibly refreshing how they make the music they want and don’t bother to stick to one genre. Their EP, All My Friends, is currently on iTunes.
