Festivals Cornerstone A Christian music festival put on by Jesus People USA, the Cornerstone Festival is held every July 4th weekend near Bushnell, Illinois. The festival originally started out in Grayslake in 1984 but was moved to Bushnell in 1990 where a large piece of land was bought for the festival by its organizers called “Cornerstone Farm”. Taking place over the course of 5 days, this festival accommodates not only Christian rockers, but also everywhere from metal, pop, rap and folk. It also screens independent/ foreign films, guest speakers, writers’ seminars and art workshops. Some of the most popular performances are the “Encores” performed around midnight each night and consist of the most popular or well estabished Christian bands at the time. Bands that have played Cornerstone include: Copeland, Underoath, August Burns Red, The Almost, As I Lay Dying, Family Force Five, Between The Trees, Relient K, The Rocket Summer, Anberlin, Paramore and Emery.
