Rock For Health Rock For Health, unlike many organizations out there these days, is not directed towards helping other people or specific causes, but rather the artists and musicians themselves. This Non- profit organization was started in October 2007 and “seeks to educate artists on health issues, provide necessary medical information and be an advocate for musicians in regards to health insurance coverage and long-term care. A population that is better informed about its health care coverage options will be better able to access needed care. ROCK FOR HEALTH will inform musicians on a wide variety of health issues including preventative health services, social, mental and occupational outreach. Through leadership, communication, and partnerships, ROCK FOR HEALTH is dedicated to the creation of a healthy musical environment in which artists and performers can perform at their peek physical and mental abilities”. I think this is a great and unique organization because it provides health care to musicians, when they other wise would go untreated. Touring on the road across the country is a nasty business and frequently ends in injuries. Unlike rock stars make it out to be, most touring bands are pretty dirt poor and cannot afford decent healthcare; so when our favorite musicians get hurt or sick, rest assureed that Rock For Health will be there to help them.
