Florida Band #6 Anberlin Formed in Winter Haven in 2002, Anberlin have come a very long way from the small band they started out as. Shortly after the band was created they were approached and signed to Tooth & Nail Records; the label putting out 3 of their 4 full lengths. These include Blue Prints For The Black Market in 2003, Never Take Friendship Personal in 2005, and Cities in 2007. Cities is was what gave Anberlin their mainstream success and a much heavier fanbase than their last 2 albums had proven to provide, peaking at #19 on the Billboard Top 200 and selling more than 34,000 copies in the first week of release. In August of 2007, Anberlin signed to Universal Republic Records, and released New Surrender in September of 2008; their first major label debut. New Surrender proved even more successful than Cities, selling 36,000 copies in the first week of release and entering the charts at #13. With each album Anberlin’s lyrics have grown and sound has changed, all in an entrancing way that makes you listen and never go back. With bands like Anberlin’s unique sound and dedication quickly disapearing, it is apparant that the success of what they have already achieved is not half of what is yet to come.
